Solo Traveller - Wales - One Night B&B - 5th & 6th Oct 24
Rewild and immerse yourselves in nature during this weekend escape to the south eastern fringes of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
The plan will be to meet in Abergavenny, early on the Saturday morning and head out from there. This historic market town is at the base of both Sugar Loaf hill and Blorenge hill, the two main features of the weekend.
Sugar Loaf is a standalone hill which commands views across the whole National Park and beyond. It's one of the highest peaks in the area and its conical shaped summit is instantly recognisable.
Blorenge covertly hides one of the areas most stunning beauty spots. The Punchbowl was formed when the Usk Valley glacier flowed past, carving a hollow into the side of the hill creating one of the best example of a glacial cwm.
Walkers will have the option to take a dip or just to soak up the ancient woodland, views and wildlife around the lake (or all of the above!).
The order of activities will be dicated by the weather.
If time permits, we will then go in search of another hidden wild swimming spot, further into the Beacons!
